Powered by a signal line or independent source; this unit can indicate a change of signal. When the input signal is clear and acknowledged, the unit is silent with both LEDs off. When the signal goes to the alarm, the red LED comes on until the line is cleared and the sounder can be silenced by pushing the central button. When the signal is restored (alarm reset), the green light comes on with the sounder until the button has been pressed to acknowledge.
